The Nearly/Newlywed Sunday School Class has begun a new study this week based on the movie, Fireproof. This six-week study will provide the backdrop for discussion of potential pitfalls in marriage and ways to avoid them. Please join this vibrant group of young married or engaged couples as they seek to strengthen their marriages through study and fellowship. RAs’ Line Glider Race – Sunday, October 4, 12 Noon, 2^nd Floor, Education Building

The speaker will be Tom Hodges, Director of Montgomery Village Baptist Center. The mission offering will go to meet needs at Montgomery Village. Lunch will be served at 12.00 pm in Trentham Hall. All church women are invited to attend.

Kely Hatley and Bill Shiell Concert – Sunday, October 11, 7.00 pm, Sanctuary     
Join us for evening of praise to God and thanksgiving for the good news of the gospel involving songs, inspirational stories and dramas. Accompanying them will be a trio comprised of Melissa Flanagan on piano, Anne Jackson on harp, and Eric Aguillar on cello. The concert is free, but tickets are required and are available in the Welcome Center and Reception office on Sundays. The Cross Mission Trip – October 15-18, Pineville, KY
The Cross is a non-denominational campus ministry focused on the fraternity and sorority community at UT. The Cross has invited FBC to join them in their fall break mission trip to Pineville. Kairos Prison Ministry – Morgan County Correctional Facility, October 22-25

Spencer Hudson and 35 men from churches in the Knoxville area will be taking the message of love and forgiveness to the inmates at Morgan County Correctional Facility.  You can help in many ways: volunteer to go, bake a dozen chocolate chip cookies, 3500 dozen are needed; donate money to help cover food expenses of $10 per participant, 60 participants are expected; or join the prayer vigil at www.tinyurl.com/mcccprayer. Trunk or Treat has quickly become one of our church’s largest outreach opportunities to our community.  Volunteers are needed: decorate your vehicle and pass out candy, work a game, activity, or concessions, help with registration, or donate bags of individually wrapped candy.
