Child Sex-Trafficking Lecture Series | Session 1

This is the first session in a 5-week class on Domestic Child Sex-Trafficking and what you can do for victimized children here in Knoxville. The series is sponsored by Women on Mission on Wednesday Night, however, all sessions are open to the whole church, whether male or female. Here is a breakdown of what each class will cover:

February 21 - Intro to Street Hope

Speaker: Devin Payne, Street Hope Tennessee Executive Director

This class will be an introduction to Street Hope offering the who, what, when, where, and why. Devin will also tell us how we can partner and help victims in our area.

February 28 - Life of a Victim

Speaker: FBI Victims Advocate

We will be walked through the experience of children who have been trafficked. We will hear real-life stories of victims and their journeys to escape trafficking from initial contact to the court system. 

March 7 - Internet Safety

Speaker: Devin Payne

Devin will highlight awareness techniques traffickers use to lure teens out of the home, church, or school and onto the streets. This session will be especially suitable for parents and youth leaders.

March 14 - Prevention and Education

Speaker: Devin Payne

Street Hope's main goal is to prevent children from being trafficked. This session will emphasize ways to guide children and families to keep them safe.

March 21 - Law Enforcement's Perspective

Speaker: Ted Francisco of Homeland Security, Board Member of Street Hope

Ted will share about his role on the board of Street Hope, as well as law enforcement's perspective of human trafficking in East Tennessee.
