Our interns for the fall started last Wednesday! We are looking forward to a semester or learning and teaching these three students from the University of Tennessee. Without further ado, meet our fall interns!

Katie Green | Interning with Arthur Clayton

Degree: Hispanic Studies & Linguistics; minoring in Teaching ESL
Most excited about: Learning about all the different missional opportunities around Knoxville and getting more involved at the church!

Most excited about: Learning about all the different missional opportunities around Knoxville and getting more involved at the church!

Future plans: I plan to teach English to non-native speakers either here in the US or in a Spanish speaking country.

Three interesting facts about yourself: 1) I have been to twelve different countries. 2) I can speak Spanish. 3) Llamas are my favorite animals. (In fact, Knoxville hosts the Great Llama race every other year, which is amazing if you haven’t been!)

Lucas Hunter | Interning with Rachel Bell

Degree: Journalism

Most excited about: Learning how I can best serve the kingdom of God with my life and being discipled by First Baptist staff who are happy and willing to pour into me.

Future plans: To find my role in finishing the Great Commission in this generation. The means of that could be overseas, as a goer, sharing the Gospel with those who have not heard. Or I could be a university professor in America teaching poetry while mobilizing and discipling college-age minds.

Interesting facts: 1) This summer I hiked Taal volcano. 2) My true heart in the Gospel lies in discipleship, and helping raise young men up to be champions for Christ. 3) I only took one shot in my high school basketball career. Ask me how it went.

Tori Quinton | Interning with Ben Winder

Degree: Kinesiology

Most excited about: The ins and outs/behind the scenes of youth ministry and pouring into those younger than me with the knowledge the Lord has blessed me with and what I’ve learned from those wiser.

Future plans: Hopefully, I’ll be going to Seminary (hopefully Baylor) to get a Master of Divinity with a concentration on family ministry. The hope is to eventually be a youth and or children’s minister.

Interesting facts: 1) I’m training for a full marathon that will be in November of this year. 2) I’m a senior this year (PRAISE) so hopefully only one more year at UTK. 3) I LOVE FOOD (especially chocolate cake)
