“Caterpillar Cove”
Preschool Ministry
Welcome to “Caterpillar Cove” FBC’s exciting ministry for ages birth – Kindergarten.
Our ministry is based on 2 Corinthians 5:17 which states: “For if a man belongs to Christ, he is a new person. The old life is gone. New life has begun.”
It is our mission to prepare these preschoolers to one day become “new creations in Christ.” The preschool years are vitally important. Foundations are laid that determine future success. Biblical foundations are also being laid during this period of rapid physical and mental development. A crucial sense of trust is learned during the first year of life when the child has a positive response to his or her needs. This carries over to the spiritual training as well.
In “Caterpillar Cove” you will find a safe, welcoming environment staffed by loving, caring, and competent individuals that take their responsibilities very seriously. Each staff person has submitted to a background check in order to ensure the safety of our preschoolers. Preschoolers are checked in and out at a central desk and parents are issued a pager in case an emergency arises. Each preschooler also has an assigned number that matches the number given to the parent each week. We know that safety and security are primary concerns of parents and we are committed to providing the best possible environment for preschoolers to learn and grow.
We offer many opportunities for preschoolers to experience active learning that teaches them about God, Jesus, the Bible, church, self, family, others, and God’s natural world. Preschoolers will develop a loving attitude toward God and others through Bible stories and verses,music, art, puzzles, books, play centers and activities.
Sunday School 9:45 – 10:45 a.m.
Extended Session 10:45 – Noon (Sunday mornings) for ages birth – 4 year olds
Preschool Choirs Wednesday evenings 5:45 -6:30 p.m. For ages 2 -Kindergarten (August – May)
Mission Friends Wednesday evenings 6:30 – 7:15 p.m. For ages 2- Kindergarten ( August-May)
Childcare for ages birth – 4 years is provided for all church wide special events and on Wednesday evenings for preschoolers under the age of 2 years.
Moms Connection is open to all moms. MOPS meets the second Friday of each month ( September- May) at 10:00 a.m. This is a wonderful time of food, fellowship, sharing and growing with other moms. A different topic and program is presented each month. Childcare is available with a reservation.
