Season of Prayer for North American Missions: Scarlette Jasper

Posted by First Baptist on

Scarlette Jasper serves with Together for Hope, CBF’s rural development coalition in the Appalachian foothills of southern Kentucky. A longtime champion for the economically disadvantaged, Scarlette ministers within some of the poorest counties in the United States. She has been involved in nonprofit work with disadvantaged communities for more than 27 years, serving in leadership positions locally and nationally. Scarlette is now the director of Olive Branch Ministries and serves the homeless, survivors of domestic violence, and families in financial and medical crises. While she assists families with financial counseling, job-readiness skills, and applying for additional benefits/services, Scarlette also strives to meet their physical needs, including food, shelter, clothing, and other necessities. Additionally, Scarlette coaches others to meet emotional and spiritual needs through classes, counseling referrals, and Bible studies. Drawing on local assets, Scarlette partners with schools, housing authorities, churches, and other local entities to organize grassroots campaigns that enable the materially poor to gain traction in society.

Season of Prayer for North American Missions

During the pandemic, our missionaries display great courage and vision to persist – and even thrive – amid great challenges. When needs in local communities arise, these missionaries step up to bring material help and eternal hope by the grace and power of God. Lives are changed, and you are a significant part of that when you pray and give. Thank you! As our missionaries change course, innovate, and share the gospel, please continue to help them move the mission forward. WMU encourages you to use the Prayer Guides for North American Missions during your personal prayer time and to give to the Annie Armstrong Easter Offering and the Offering for Global Missions. Our goal is $20,000. Annie Armstrong Prayer Guide or Global Missions Prayer Guide
